This page covers two routes:
Northern Ireland to Republic of Ireland - moves from Belfast, Lisburn, Antrim, Bangor, and anywhere across NI to Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, and all points south of the border.
Great Britain to the Republic of Ireland - moves from England, Scotland, and Wales to any destination in the Republic of Ireland. These moves cross two borders and require additional customs documentation. We handle that process as part of your move.
If you are moving from the Republic of Ireland to the UK, , and we will confirm availability on return routes.
CrissCross has been running UK to Ireland routes since 2016. We are based in Lisburn, which puts us at the centre of the NI to ROI corridor. Our team of 4 full-time staff, 3 part-time crew, and 4 trucks handles the full move from packing to delivery. A dedicated move manager is assigned to every cross-border job.
NI has a special status under post-Brexit arrangements. Moving household goods from NI to ROI is straightforward for most residential moves, but there are border formalities. We guide you through what is needed at survey stage so nothing is left to the last minute.
Moves from England, Scotland, or Wales to Ireland cross an international customs boundary. To bring your household goods into Ireland duty and tax free, you need to apply for Transfer of Residence (ToR) relief with Irish Revenue before your move date. Key points:
We are experienced with this process and will tell you exactly what to prepare during your free survey.
Confirm your move date and book your free survey with CrissCross. Start your ToR application with Irish Revenue if you are moving from Great Britain. Gather proof of residency and an inventory of items being moved.
Confirm your fixed-price quote. Book your if required. Confirm utilities, change of address, and any storage requirements with us. Check your ToR application status if applicable.
Pack personal items and documents you will carry yourself. Confirm move day timings with your CrissCross move manager. Ensure parking and access is arranged at both ends. Keep customs documents and inventory accessible on move day.
Every move is quoted individually after a free survey, but the main factors that affect price are:
Volume - the total cubic footage of your belongings determines whether you need a full load or a part load.
Origin and destination - a move from Belfast to Dublin is shorter than a move from London to Cork. Ferry routes and distance affect the overall cost.
Packing - if you want our team to pack and unpack for you, this is priced separately. .
Storage - if your Irish property is not ready on move day, we can hold your belongings in our secure Belfast facility until you are ready. .
Access - properties with restricted access, no parking, or multiple floors take longer and are costed accordingly. We assess this at survey stage.
All quotes are fixed-price. The number you receive after your survey is the number you pay.
We run regular scheduled removals on the following routes:
Part loads are available if you are moving a smaller volume. Your belongings travel in a shared container alongside other consignments on the same route, reducing cost without reducing care.
